Rock Camp Open House Zoom Call

I had a little trouble finding the Zoom link; so I was a little late. Suggest an Email 15 or 20 minutes before the "trip" with the link. Once in, I thought the event, or class or trip as you call it, was very informative and well moderated.

Informative & helpful. Everyone was very encouraging about signing up.

Whole Lotta Rock Volume II - ROCK 'N' ROLL FANTASY CAMP

The Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp was an incredible experience.  Truly exceptional!!

We all had a great time, Josh, who was the camper, had the time of his life! Everyone involved in running and working the camp, as well as all of those who attended, were all very friendly and complementary of each other. Everyone from the headliners to all of the councilors and directors (Britt Miles and David) were amazing to work with and be around. I did not hear a single complaint from any camper.

Another amazing rock camp. As always, Brit and Myles do a great job orchestrating everything. Its nice to spend the week with so many good people. The counselors, crew, and campers are so fun to be with. You have built a great community of people. This was my third camp and I have made so many friends that extend beyond the camp. Looking forward to the next one !
 

Let me start by saying WOW!!! This Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp went way beyond our expectations! Britt Lightning is an awesome Music Director and counselor!! Our daughter learned so much and grew so much as a performer and a person from this experience!! The rock star counselors are awesome people and have so much useful information that we learned from them.  If you’re hesitating to do a rock and roll fantasy camp, DON’T! Just DO IT!!!  It was worth every cent!!! Our daughter as well as us have memories that will last a lifetime.  She is more motivated than ever to have a career in the music industry, this camp lit a fire under her and brought her talent to the Next Level!!! Thank you David Fishof for creating these camps and thank you for continuing to do these camps!  We can’t wait to do it again!!

We had such a fun time! Thank you so much for this opportunity to meet and perform with so many fantastic people and musicians! 

This was a fantastic, magical experience in all aspects, surpassing my expectations. The personal and musical interactions with bandmates, counselors, staff and headliners were amazing. Looking forward to the next camp!

2ND WEEK ADDED - MASTERS OF ROCK 2025 - ROCK 'N' ROLL FANTASY CAMP

It was the utmost fun.  Everyone was great.  Immediate bonding with fellow bandmates.  Our camp counselor Johnny Martin was understanding, kept us on task, and the final performances were something to be proud of.  The roadies and techs were courteous, nice and hardworking.  The pros were all accommodating and easy to approach.  Had a great time with the superstars as they revealed their talents.  Finally, the Hall-of-Famers were patient, graceful, humorous and appreciative.  Participating in a jam session with the Hall-of-Famers is something I will always cherish. This was my first camp and most likely will not be my last.      

Far exceeded expectations!  Our son had the best time.  

This was one of the most rewarding and excellent experiences of my life. The musicians were great. The pace was wonderful. I can't say enough good things.

JANET ROBIN - was my counselor. She was outstanding in every way.

As a beginner guitarist, I was incredibly nervous. But, the camp took care of me and made sure that it went perfectly. 

I am grateful for Rock 'N Roll Fantasy Camp!

This was one of the greatest life experiences that I have ever had.   The camp exceeded, in every way, any and all expectations that I had before getting on a plane to Los Angeles last week.  From the very first conversation that I had with Miles a few months ago when I called to inquire about attending, I was treated in a first-class manner in every respect and will absolutely return.

Overall: Had a great time, so many amazing memories and experiences I couldn't possibly ever forget. I ended up pushing aside any preconceived but warranted grievances and just focusing on having the best time of my life. Jamming with so many greats, including my own band campers and counselor, Joel Hoekstra. What a great guy, seriously. Incredibly humble and great human. Joel, you're my brother for life! 

Although maybe not excited at the predetermined song choices at first, I learned several tracks outside my preferred and default genre and comfort zone. Being rather forced to learn music from artists I didn't have much interest in originally, taught me how interesting those arrangements actually were, and challenged me to think in new ways melodically. That I truly appreciate. I never want to stop growing and learning as a musician. 

Feedback: 

1) Rock Camp Counselors should be empowered with more supervisory authority to reign in song choices, rehearsal leadership, time management, squash disputes, make executive decisions, etc. 
2) Ensure not only camper skill compatibility but also genre and style preferences. Again as said above, I learned a lot and am grateful, but having little input early in the process was disheartening and frustrating.
3) Consider breaking up groups of recurring campers that use Rock Camp as their personal annual music gathering as that creates a mindset of creative control and subconscious exclusion of "others".

Britt and Miles, you were both so great! Super positive, upbeat, great energy. Thanks for being you! Always made sure I felt comfortable and heard and in the end, I had the best time of my life. I think I'll be back next year if you'll have me! xoxo.

Joel - Best camp counselor. You played with us on every song at both venues and made us feel like true rock stars. And I could tell you were having a kick ass time yourself. Thanks bro! Hope we meet again and jam someday!



Rock N Roll FC was the experience of a lifetime!
You have to pinch yourself when you're in the room and actually playing with the industries greats!
David Fishof, Britt Lightening, Miles and all of the staff are exceptional human beings!
They give their all!!

MASTERS OF ROCK 2025 - ROCK 'N' ROLL FANTASY CAMP

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp was AMAZING!  I had a off the hook overall experience - amazing people, excellent food, and outstanding accommodations!!!!  Thank you for the fantastic experience!

The rock ‘n’ roll fantasy camp was an amazing experience! The camp formed me into a band with five strangers who worked together as a team and we became six great friends!  I was a little nervous and apprehensive before coming to the camp on my playing abilities. That all subsided once I was at camp. All the campers there played at various skill levels. We all came together, joined as a team and made it happen! The counsellors, were all great, helpful and encouraging. It was a lot of fun to watch them have their jam night. Lastly, to be able to play music with our heroes was beyond believable. It was almost surreal to play a song with Robbie Krieger at the whiskey a go go! Highly recommend! 

Incredible experience. Tremendous support and guidance from our counselors. Friendly atmosphere. Wonderful accommodations,  very rewarding and fun experience. Everyone and anyone who loves music, should do this at least once in their lives. Very grateful for this experience!.....

One of the best experiences of my life. Masters of Rock 2025/Week 1 - Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp went beyond all expectations. From forming and playing in a band to performing with the headliners it was a mind blowing experience. Topped off by performing at the Whiskey-a-go-go.  I can't recommend this enough. Thank you to David, Brit and MIles for making it a perfect weekend.

Unbelievably exceptional experience!! The whole experince was so well choreographed and every event was fun and soul satisfying. The camp counselors rock! Pun intended. They are the most encouraging, giving, and positive group of pros you'll ever meet. 

Playing songs with greats such as Stewart Copeland, Robby, Krieger, Jeff Baxter, and Darryl Jones was more than a dream come true. You can't make up dreams like that. By the way, so much fun and they were all so nice and thankful. Words can't describe this experience. 

Can't wait for my next camp!

Great experience all-around! Just had a good, big time of it. And everyone was kind and helpful. Thanks very much to David Fishof, team and counselors for all that they do to make it happen and make sure the experience and week is safe and positive for all!

Once again, what a fantastic experience. The entire team makes things as fun as possible. David, Brett, and Miles are gems!! Gary Hoey is the most amazing counselor, and all of them are fantastic and always willing to help you through whatever you need and make your fantasy of reality!



Had an absolute great time learning from the best. Met wonderful folks and had the best experience performing at historic venues

I had the good fortune of having this once in a lifetime experience twice. Attending the second week is a testament to how well the first went. It was wonderful to have the chance to play with the likes of Jones, Copeland, Baxter and Krieger in addition to that were the wonderful, wonderful campers and counselors. If you get the chance to attend, I highly recommend you do it.

Overall it was a fun wonderful experience!

Some positives:
1) the guys in my band were great to work with, supportive and eager to make sure we sounded good
2) our band counselor, Johnny A, was great!  
3) the overall organization and implementation of the camp was incredible.  I am impressed with what David, Miles and Britt (and the rest of the staff) accomplish
4) in addition to being incredible musicians, the 4 headliners, Stewart Copeland, Robbie Krieger, Jeff Baxter and Daryl Jones were friendly and gracious, it was an honor to meet them and play music with them
5) the Loews Hotel was great, as were the nightly jams in the lobby

Some areas of concern for me:
1) the size of the band I was in was 9 people.  I felt like my role as a keyboardist was diminished, and volume was a problem at times (had to use earplugs most of the time, which I hate doing as it negatively impacts the sound quality).  For me, a smaller band would have been more agreeable.
2) I know that efforts are made in advance to try and make sure musicians are placed in bands with other musicians of similar abilities.  There was a big disparity in talent and ability in my band, 3 of the members were not as experienced, 75% of the time spent in our rehearsals was aimed towards these 3 members, trying to get their parts learned and played properly.  I think my experience would have been a little better if all of the musicians were of similar abilities.
3) except for the final show at Whiskey A Go Go, all of the band jams and shows were extremely loud
4) I enjoyed the nightly jams at the Loews Hotel, but I am a keyboardist, and unfortunately there was not a keyboard available to play in order to join in

I had a great time, and am open to doing another camp in the future.



Always a great experience and great time. I will plan to go again. Thank you David, Britt, Miles, Vinnie, and all the counselors, artist and guest that make this great.

Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp was an amazing experience that was truly authentic in every way. We listened, lived and learned for four amazing days and nights. The team of counselors were engaging and insightful. Always willing to share their knowledge and experience while providing compliments, encouragement and lots of constructive criticism. 

I have been following Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp for more than 10 years watching and waiting for the stars to line-up with kick-ass headliners and dates I could commit to.  I think it was meant to be this time as it was well worth the wait.

On the final day when I drove from the hotel to the rehearsal studio I felt transformed, and while I knew that this was just an immersive escape for a few days, I was in it and living a Rock & Roll dream.  Of course this was all before my band played "Light My Fire" with Robby Krieger on stage at the Whisky A-Go-Go!  A one-of-a-kind, deeply authentic experience that I will never forget and have shared with anyone who asks me about camp and even those that haven't - Mind Blown!

Johnny A. gets an "A+" for coaching us and working harder than he probably expected to during this Camp.  Starting with a nine member band is already daunting, but he soldiered on through and shaped us into a group of musicians that could play the songs and be proud of what we accomplished together.  Was there friction? you bet.  Did it make us better? absolutely!
He was the right coach for us.  He challenged us to find focus, play inside the song and let go of the crutches that ultimately limit our ability to play and enjoy making music. In the end we were all in, played the songs and had F%@#ing awesome time!

To quote Johnny's words of encouragement "I really like what you are going for" 
It was just the right amount of motivation to keep us humble and realistic about our ability as non-professional musicians working hard to have a blast!

Skunk and Darryl were amazing to play with.  I have played "Listen to the Music" and "Jumping Jack Flash" in cover bands for years, but they never felt as good or grooved as much as they did when our band, Billiards, had a chance to join in.

Awesome perspectives on all things music and the business from the counselor team.  Britt did an excellent job with the pre-camp  welcome and assessments. Her warmth was genuine on the Zoom calls and in even more so in-person. Both Janet Robin and Jennifer Oberle's comments on being a musician in music were spot on and something I am glad they shared. Jimmy has clearly learned a lot from his days just steps away from Conan because he knows how to conduct an engaging and interesting interview.

As a drummer I was most excited about Stewart Copeland.  And for any doubt I might of had about my ability to play the drums in the presence of such tremendous talent it washed away as soon as he commented on my "Defiant Jazz" t-shirt.  He said "That's what my Dad used to say about me and music" His smile let me know I had permission to sit down behind the kit and join him in hitting shit. The Magic extended way beyond "Every Little Thing She Does" 

Staying with drums for a minute, Vinny Appice invited me up to the kit he was playing at the jam sessions.  I played Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" and "Can't Explain" by the Who with Derek St. Holmes.  And then Gregg Bissonette took us on a tour of everything awesome about being a drummer. Ringo is so lucky to have him along for the ride.

Oh yeah, there were horns!  The horn section was brilliant.  Please do this always.  We even got them to join us or an extra song we didn't get to rehearse with them.  Of course they too were excellent musicians that added so much to the experience.

I attended every hotel lobby jam and by the second night I brought out my box of percussion to share with the non-strummer non-singers..  I think it worked because many more musicians got up to tap, shake and chime in on the acoustic jams. I loved it when Derek was pounding away on the Cajon and I noticed Britt run her fingers down the chimes. I would be thrilled to see this continue. It was just one more outstanding way to connect with other campers. 

Campers are big part of the experience delivery too.  I made friends beyond my own band and felt like part of genuine community.  We shared pictures and videos of each other and generously sought each other out to fist bump, high-five and tell each other how much we liked the music that we were all creating. 

I appreciated how much there was to do.  The days were jam packed and there was never any real down time. I know that Miles and the team of stage managers and behind the scenes folks made that happen and they deserve the credit for a well planned event.  The beat went on and on and I thought it was great.  

I went home tired and fulfilled.

This was probably the best experience out of 5 camps. I have a couple of minor things. It would be great if there were some healthy options for food! Def looking forward to the next one!

Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp runs a very high quality operation. Everything runs on time and the communication before and during the event is excellent. The facility in LA is good for the intended purpose. There are people to help with equipment and technical issues. The food is fine. The venues we played in were legendary and to be on stage playing with Robby Krieger of The Doors was a mind blower. There are a lot of optional events you can participate in; almost too many. I bailed in the late night stuff. The only downsides of RNR camp are: (1) you may or may not hit it off with some of the other musicians in your group, (2) some of the amps in the practice rooms are pretty limited or have seen better days, and (3) it can be painfully loud. So invest in good ear protection and bring it with you. 

It was an amazing opportunity to jam and perform with so many great musicians, rock star mentors, and rock star headliners!  Everyone's hard work in learning the songs and sets really showed, and we had fun along the way!   Thank you to RRFC for another tremendous camp!

Fantastic camp, incredible headliners, fantastic counselor, tremendous band dynamics.  So much fun.

This one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. The BIG NAME comedians who came gave great insight into the comedy world and then would hear attendee's routines and provide very valuable critiques. The ending of being able to do a stand-up routine at the Hollywood Improv was a dream come true. If you have ever thought of doing stand-up or just adding humor to your speeches, this is HIGHLY recommended. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

COMEDY FANTASY CAMP VOLUME III - LOS ANGELES - JANUARY 2025

This was such an amazing experience. The staff, the coaches, the special guests all made for such an exciting camp.  I highly recommend it and am looking forward to the next one! 

The call was informative and answered all of our questions so far. We are looking forward to attending the camp. 

This was a phenomenal experience. I recommend to everyone, whether you are pursuing a comedy career or just looking for self improvement and gaining public speaking skills this is for you ! So much valuable information from true professionals. Thank you! 

A great introduction to The Rock and Roll Fantasy camp!!! 

I was skeptical at first, thinking how could this live up to the hype.  I did times ten, my daughter actually got to perform live with several professional musician's from very famous bands.  But also, to make it even better, she performed on stage at the Whisky a Go Go and the Viper room, just iconic venues our family will remember forever.  Camp counselors Britt, Julia and Johnny Black went above and beyond the scope of their duties and bonded with my daughter like a fellow musician and not a camp employee. 
It's a bit pricey, but worth every single cent.  Cheers!

Rock Camp January 2025 - Green Day | Jane's Addiction + More!

This is one of the best times I've had in my life. The opportunity to come together with like-minded people who share a love of music and be able to learn and grow from some of the best in the business is nothing short of amazing. The best part is, this camp really gives life to the old cliche "you get out of it what you put into it." If you're willing to work and focus, the counselors will work just as hard with you to refine your craft to where you might be able to start a side career or perhaps even launch a full music career.  This is a true opportunity for many and one serious musicians shouldn't pass up!

This experience over delivered.  Complete immersion into music on all levels.  Everyone knows the headliners will be great.  What you don't likely know is that your "counselors" are the real stars of the show.  Special shout out to our counselor Johnny Martin who is not only a killer bassist but a producer extraordinaire who led our band to reach our maximum potential.  5 performances in 4 days!!  Two of those at the Whiskey A Go Go and the Viper Room.  It cannot get any better.  Highly recommend this to any musician at any level.     

Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp is always an exciting and life-changing experience. It's obviously amazing to play with headline artists like Mike Dirnt, Kiki Wong, and Stephen Perkins (who were all so humble, nice and gracious). However, the counselors are all amazing musicians with great credentials, and you spend so much time with them learning so many different aspects of performance and the industry. You definitely need to go sign up for a camp now!

My band and leader were awesome! They paired us up so well. Great, healthy food and experiences! Loved  it!!!

Women's Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp

Camp was amazing! It was an unforgettable experience for me. The chance to learn from professional counselors, work and play with my band mates and jam with some of my heroes could not have been better.  Meals and snacks were excellent. The whole team went out of their way to make camp good for everyone. Thank you for this opportunity!
